How PSEO works

Four steps from your kitchen table to your first college class.

1

Check if you qualify

PSEO is open to Minnesota students in grades 10–12. Each of the 60+ participating colleges sets its own GPA minimum — some as low as 2.0, some as high as 3.6.

2

Pick a college

Community colleges, public universities, private colleges, tribal colleges. Most run on a semester system; a few on quarters. You can apply to up to three at once.

3

File your NOSR

The Notice of Student Registration is Minnesota's official PSEO form. It needs three signatures — yours (and a parent's if you're under 18), your high school counselor's, and your college's. Notify your district by May 30 for fall or October 30 for spring.

4

Start taking classes

Tuition, fees, and textbooks are paid by the state. The credits count toward your high school graduation and transfer to most universities nationwide.

Ask anything about PSEO

“Can I take PSEO classes if I'm homeschooled?”

Yes — homeschool students are eligible in Minnesota. You'll need to meet the college's GPA requirements, notify your resident district by the May 30 or October 30 deadline, and complete the NOSR form with a parent signature.
